October 28th, 2023 is First Responder's Day. We provided lunch for some of Milton's finest and got to meet these brave men and women. We learned that nearly every firefighter is trained as an EMT and that the difference between a "fire engine" and "fire truck" is that the engines are equipped to focus power on the fire itself, while the trucks focus on saving civilians. At the police station we were welcomed by very friendly officers who discussed "a day in the life" of a police officer and went over the protocol of how to become a police officer. We also enjoyed having fun interviews with Ray, a Paramedic Firefighter, and Deputy Jim O'Neill. While we nod off to sleep at night and hear distant sirens, those are first responders going to a dangerous scene to help people. We are very grateful for our Fire and Police Departments! Thank you!
